Administrative and Investigations Division

The Administrative and Investigations Division is responsible for oversight and management of the Administrative Support Bureau and the Investigations Bureau.  The division is supervised by an Assistant Chief of Police, with two Majors, one in charge of each bureau.  The Assistant Chief reports directly to the Chief of Police and is responsible to the Chief for the efficient and effective operation of the division.

Assistant Chief Clint Shannon
Assistant Chief Clint Shannon began his law enforcement career in 1979 with the North Miami Police Department in Miami-Dade County.  He spent 31 years with North Miami PD and was promoted through the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant, Major, Assistant Chief, and to Chief of Police before retiring in 2010.  

Clint joined the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department in 2010 as an Assistant Chief overseeing the Field Operations Division, which included the Patrol Bureau, Traffic Unit, Community Involvement Unit, SWAT Team, Hostage Negotiation, Canine, and Homeland Security.  Currently, he oversees the Investigations and Administration Division, which includes Criminal Investigations, Tactical Crime Suppression Unit, Crime Scene Unit, Property and Evidence, Records Unit, Training Unit, Budget, Administrative Operations, and Accreditation.
Throughout his career Assistant Chief Shannon has gained vast experience in virtually every area of law enforcement operations and administration.  He has been a state certified instructor on many law enforcement topics and in high-liability areas including extensive firearms training.

Assistant Chief Shannon holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Thomas University.  He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy’s 202nd session, FBI Executive Development 56th session, and has attended more than 150 training courses on a variety of topics throughout his law enforcement career.  
Assistant Chief Shannon possesses FBI/Department of Justice National Secret Security Clearance.  He is currently a member of the Palm Beach County Police Chief’s Association, Florida Police Chief’s Association, International Association of Chief’s of Police, FBI National Academy Associates, FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association, Miami-Dade Association of Chief’s of Police (Life Member), and the South Florida Crime Commission.
