Kids Cooking Challenge


Calling all chefs! Palm Beach Gardens is hosting its first ever cooking class similar to popular TV programs! Each week we will have a delicious cooking lesson and then all ‘chefs’ will be given a mystery basket to explore and create fun and exciting recipes! Please bring a water bottle or drink. Food will be provided.*Due to common food allergies, parents will be required to sign a waiver to register for this program.

Clay Creations


Come play with clay and create pieces using coils, slabs, pinch pots and extrusions. Learn decorative techniques using textures and colorful glazes. Find out about greenware, bisqueware and the process of working with clay from start to finish! All supplies included.

Kaleidoscope Kids

“Summertime” Fabric Collage-Making Workshop
LIMITED ENROLLMENT - NO FEE!


Create and assemble your very own fabric collage based on the theme, Summertime! Inspiration will be gathered while viewing the quilt exhibition currently on display at the Burns Road Recreation Center Auditorium titled, “Stitched on Cloth”. All supplies generously provided by artist, Adrienne
Yorinks, including some of the artists’ own unique and special fabric designs. Don’t miss this one-time program. Parents are welcome to accompany their children and lend a hand. Pre-registration will be required.

Art Enrichment


Students will learn and develop their skills in drawing, painting, and mixed media & acquire some sculptural skills. Using a variety of media this course is designed to bring out the creative talent in your artist.  The class will also help to enhance the necessary skills and understanding needed for students who are interested in auditioning for the Visual Department for BAK Middle School of the Arts.  11”x14” mixed media pad, a folder, ebony pencils and eraser are required.

Master of the Week


Young artists will be introduced to a different master artist each week. After a brief lesson in art history, students will have the opportunity to create their own work of art in the style of the Master. The medium and materials will change each week. All supplies will be included.

Drawing for Kids


This course is designed for the elementary aged student. Each class will incorporate a different medium into a fun drawing project. Drawing mediums include pencil, charcoal, India ink and watercolor pencils. Students will explore still life drawing, perspective drawing, drawing animals, and more! All supplies will be included.

Ceramics – All Levels Welcome


Discover the ceramic artist in you. Learn both hand building and wheel work while receiving individualized attention. Create, play and imagine in clay. Initial clay and glaze fees included. Each additional 25 lb. bag of clay and glaze is $20.

If you are interested in taking a class that has been canceled, please email the Recreation Division or call 561-630-1100 and put your name on a list to let us know that you are interested in that class. Once we have enough people to hold the class, we will try to restart that class.
