Mosquito Spray Program

The City of Palm Beach Gardens' Public Services Division has established a Mosquito Control Program in accordance with Florida Statute 388. Spraying for adult mosquitoes occurs when the targeted mosquito has reached a point where they have become a documented problem.
The City employs a licensed technician who drives the City and releases a controlled application of the insecticide as per the product's labeling instructions. The product used has a trade name of Duet. This insecticide is registered for use in outdoor residential and recreational areas for the control of adult mosquitoes. Each spray will occur from 10 p.m. through 6 a.m., weather permitting.

As the Zika virus continues to be a concern, the City of Palm Beach Gardens has carefully been monitoring the situation and is taking a proactive approach to ensure the safety of our community. Beginning Monday, November 28th, an additional City-wide mosquito spray has been scheduled in Palm Beach Gardens. Spraying will continue through Friday, December 2nd, weather permitting. Each spray will occur from 10 p.m. through 6 a.m.

The City-wide mosquito spraying treatment will utilize the chemical Duet®, a dual-action adulticide, to combat night and daytime flying mosquitoes. The proven active ingredients being used are prallethrin and sumithrin (a CDC recommended active ingredient for Zika control).
