On January 17, 2020, the Palm Beach Gardens Woman's Club and the City celebrated Arbor Day 2020. On that beautiful Friday morning, President Karen Kraatz of the Woman's Club opened the ceremony by welcoming Mayor, Mark Marciano, Vice Mayor, Carl Woods, Council Members Matthew Lane, and Rachelle Litt, City Manager, Ron Ferris, and City staff to the 21th Arbor Day at the PBG Woman's Club Honor Park at Lake Catherine Park.
Mayor Marciano read the Arbor Day Proclamation proclaiming January 17, 2020 Arbor Day and presented the Proclamation document to the PBG Woman's Club. This year the PBG Woman's Club donated the Chinese Perfume Tree to the City. City Forester, Mark Hendrickson, provided a few tree facts about the Chinese Perfume Tree. Joe Corrao, Director of Parks and Public Facilities attended with Parks Staff who care for the trees all year. For the tree planting ceremony, all the gold shovels were lifted with soil to establish the Chinese Perfume Tree as the 2020 Arbor Day tree.
