Important Dance Recital Information

Please read the following information regarding The Studios of Palm Beach Gardens 2019 Dance Recital performance:

Location:

Eissey Campus Theatre at Palm Beach State College, 11051 Campus Drive (opposite of library), Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410

Show Dates:

Friday, May 10 at 6:45pm seating, 7:00pm curtain
Saturday, May 11 at 1:45pm seating, 2:00pm curtain

Work Rehearsal - Wednesday, May 8

Arrival Times:

  • Group 1: 3:30pm
  • Group 2: 4:30pm
  • Group 3: 6:30pm
  • Dancers will be dismissed by their teacher when their dance is finished.
  • Combo students ONLY will wear their designated costumes this day.
  • ALL other students should be in leotard and tights, no makeup, NO COSTUME.
  • All dancers will report inside of theatre and find their designated row for the FIRST number they are dancing in. Signs will be posted.

Check the BRCC Dance bulletin board to find out which group you are in.

Dress Rehearsal: Thursday, May 9

  • ALL DANCERS REPORT at 5:00pm
  • Arrive in costume with hair and makeup done.
  • All dancers report to either annex behind theatre, backstage dressing rooms or indoor stairwell (house right)
  • Quick change dancers bring their costumes to quick change room upon arrival.
  • This rehearsal will be a complete show run through with no stops.

NO FOOD OR DRINK IS ALLOWED IN THE THEATRE AUDITORIUM.
Any snacks must be eaten in the lobby or outside the theatre. Concession will not be open during rehearsals. Please bring your own dinner and snacks for rehearsals.

Show Performance: Friday, May 10

  • ALL DANCERS REPORT at 6:00pm
  • Arrive in costume with hair and makeup done with oversized button-down shirt.
  • All dancers report to either annex behind theatre, backstage dressing rooms or indoor stairwell (house right)
  • Quick change dancers bring their costumes to quick change room upon arrival.

Show Performance: Saturday, May 11

  • ALL DANCERS REPORT at 1:00pm
  • Arrive in costume with hair and makeup done with oversized button-down shirt.
  • All dancers report to either annex behind theatre, backstage dressing rooms or indoor stairwell (house right)
  • Quick change dancers bring their costumes to quick change room upon arrival.

All costumes are to be placed in a clear plastic labeled garment bag. DO NOT FORGET to label your dancer’s costume bag with child’s name, class day & time and name of their dance number. Garment bag labels for Quick Change Costumes Only will be distributed Wed., May 8th. Remember to label all pieces and accessories. Shoes will need to be labeled with name on the inside and not on the bottom of the shoe. PLEASE - NO JEWELRY!

REGISTERED VOLUNTEERS ARE THE ONLY PARENTS WHO WILL BE ALLOWED INTO THE DRESSING ROOMS. WE WILL ENFORCE THESE RULES REGARDING ROOM CAPACITY. ID BADGES WILL BE GIVEN TO THOSE WITH PERMISSION TO BE IN THE DRESSING ROOMS.

Work Rehearsal Instructions (Wednesday, May 8): 

Parent volunteers should arrive 10 minutes earlier than time assignment for class. All other parents, enter through the main lobby and follow signage to escort your dancer to the proper side of the theatre for their FIRST dance. Your dancer will be seated in their designated section in the auditorium. Each section will have a sign with the group name. Parents that are not volunteers and any of their young children are to remain seated in the auditorium in the last 2-3 rows. Please refrain from talking and moving around the theater as it is very disruptive to the rehearsal. At no time should there be children unescorted in the building. Dancers may leave when they are through with all their dances and their teacher has dismissed them.

Dress Rehearsal Instructions (Thursday, May 9): 

Dancers will check in directly to either outdoor annex, backstage dressing rooms or theatre steps (specific locations for each class will be posted in the BRCC dance lobby). This rehearsal will be conducted as a show with as few delays as possible. Parents of all students in the annex will need to sign their children in/out with the City staff members. After they sign in, parents may then go to the auditorium to watch their child from the audience. When their dance is finished, the dancers will then be immediately escorted back to the annex or stairwell by the volunteer moms. When their dancer is finished with all dances, parents may then go back to their area immediately and sign out their child. Personal video cameras may be used at this rehearsal only. Please be courteous and use discretion.

Show Performances (Friday & Saturday, May 10 & 11):

Drop-off: Dancers and working volunteers need to arrive on Friday by 6:00pm and Saturday by 1:00pm. Do not enter through the main lobby. Please bring dancers to the annex behind the theatre and follow directions of where to go. There will be parent volunteers to assist your dancer into the annex. All students should be in their first costume covered by an oversized button-down LABELED shirt when they arrive. Any additional costumes should be taken to the proper changing room in a labeled garment bag. Look for a volunteer to assist you.

Pick-up: For each dancer’s safety, first half dancers will be dismissed during intermission ONLY and second half dancers ONLY at the conclusion of the show. Dancers from the annex & theatre stairwell can be found in their pickup section just outside the annex, in the grassy area. Class signs will be posted. If a dancer is in more than one number, they will be released with the last number they danced in. Dancers from the backstage dressing rooms can be picked up at the stairs just outside the backstage dressing room doors.

All ticket holders should be in their seats 15 minutes prior to show times. Remember, no videos are allowed on show nights. The Eissey Campus Theatre is legally bound to prohibit video cameras in the audience. Cell phone use and flash photography are also prohibited.

Lightning Video, a professional video company, will be recording the 2pm show on Saturday, May 11th . The price for the recital DVD is $45.00. Order forms are available in the dance room lobby area or you may order at the theatre. The DVD is mailed directly to you. If you choose, you may also order online at www.lightningvideos.com

Summer camp registration is now open. We are offering a limited amount of dance camps this summer. Summer dance classes will also be offered on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings. You may register for those classes now. Please visit our web page for listings. www.pbgrec.com

ATTENTION: ALL DANCE RECITAL PARENTS

Each dance family may receive 7 tickets per family per performance. Please ask for only what you need. Dance ticket distribution is at the Eissey Campus Theatre Box Office, 11051 Campus Drive,

The Eissey Campus Theatre has assigned seats and does not offer open seating. You will select your own seats first come, first served, in person only. If you cannot pick up tickets, a friend/family member may pick for you. You will be required to email John Gerbes at jgerbes@pbgfl.com with alternate person’s name by April 24th at 5pm.

Mark your Calendar! Ticket Pick up runs Thursday, April 25 - Wednesday, May 1

The box office hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-5pm. If available, 2 extra tickets per family (for either performance) may be picked up May 8-10 from the Box Office. All April-May dance fees are due by Monday, April 15. Please Note: Complimentary Dance Recital Tickets will not be released until tuition is paid in full.
