[ARCHIVED] Holiday Joy Drive

2016 Joy Drive

Continuing a tradition fourteen years in the making, the City of Palm Beach Gardens’ Holiday Joy Drive is underway through December 19, 2016. The event, which is sponsored by the Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation, aims to provide holiday gifts for children who are less fortunate. The Holiday Joy Drive has provided toys, and in some cases basic needs, for families and thousands of underprivileged children over the years. Through the help of school counselors and Palm Beach Gardens police officers who come in contact with families & children, the Holiday Joy Drive works to keep the holidays bright for those who are in need.

The Joy Drive has several locations throughout the City where new unwrapped toys, clothing and gift cards can be dropped off. A full list of drop-off locations & popular requests is available on the Foundation's website. Those wishing to make a financial contribution can make a check out to the Palm Beach Gardens Police Foundation and mark “Joy Drive” in the notes section of the check.

In addition to encouraging local businesses to get involved, the community is urged to help out by donating items and by volunteering time to wrap some of the thousands of gifts that are donated. Special wrapping hours have been designated at the Palm Beach Gardens Emergency Operations Center (Monday -Friday, 4-8PM) for any person or group who would like to participate.

For information on volunteering for the Holiday Joy Drive, email inquiries to joydrive@pbgpf.org or contact Detective Jen Brashear at 561-799-4510.
