Seymour’s watercolor paintings are inspired by nature and her travels to the U.S. National Parks and abroad.  Color intrigues her and creating interesting combinations of color on YUPO, a synthetic plastic paper, is a challenge and a delight on this wonderful water media journey.

Palm Beach Gardens Woman's Club

The GFWC Palm Beach Gardens Woman's Club will be celebrating it's 52nd birthday after being federated with the General Federation of Women's Clubs (an international women's organization dedicated to community improvement by enhancing the lives of others through volunteer service) in September of 1968.  They will share cake and other goodies and will have a program sponsored by the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department entitled "Active Shooter Awareness", presented by Officer Robert L. Mad Science is bringing two exciting, really cool classes to the Burns Road Recreation Center. Check out “Take a Bite Out of Science” for 1st-5th graders on Wednesday afternoons and “Mission: Code” for 3rd-7th graders on Friday afternoons. Classes start the week of Sep 12th so sign up now. *NEW* Totally Tots

This parent and tot class is a fun way for your toddler (ages 2-3) to learn socialization skills through interactive play, songs, movement and crafts.  The first 6-week session is on Wednesdays, Sep 5 - Oct 10 from 9-9:45am.  Resident/Non-resident fee is $48/$60. The Studios at Burns Road Recreation Center

PBG Game Time

PBG Game Time, our after school basketball program, is back on the court with the start of the new school year on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3-5pm. All participants must be in high school, have a valid school ID and sign a Code of Conduct. Call 561-630-1100 for more information or cancellations.

THE STUDIOS: Youth Art Classes

We offer a variety of creative art classes for ages 6-12 including, but not limited to:
• Mixed Media Exploration (6-12 yrs) - Experiment with many materials and methods including painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, and stenciling. Classes are offered on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
• Visual Storytelling for Kids (8-12 yrs) - Learn to draw comic strips, simple book-binding techniques and sequential art projects. Wednesdays, September 26-December 19 from 5-6pm.  
• Audition Workshops for Bak Middle School of the Arts (4th-5th grade) - Get your child prepared to audition for the Bak MSOA with weekly classes in Visual Art, Theatre and Communications. Classes follow all guidelines for the audition and include preparation and audition techniques for their chosen area.

Trail Train

Check out this newest addition to our Wellness classes.  Trail Train is a high energy class that combines laps around the trail with high interval training.  Classes are on Saturday mornings at 7:15am (no class September 8) and are $10 for residents and $13 for non-residents. Meet at the trail head at the edge of the Burns Road Recreation Center parking lot and get ready for a great workout! More Information on Fitness/Wellness Classes

Even though this class doesn’t happen until October, mark your calendar and sign up now for this FREE introductory session on Thursday, October 4 at 10:30am, so that we know how many are coming. Adult Softball

Over 50 Softball has started recruiting for the next season. Open play will be on Tuesday nights at 7pm at PGA National Park. The league will be starting mid-September. Please contact Lyndsey at lmarsh@pbgfl.com or 561-630-1113 for more information and/or to register.

Splash, Craft and Safety Class

The Splash, Craft and Safety class is a fun mix of water safety, craft making, and enjoying our newly renovated splash pad for ages 3.5-5 years old.  The first session starts Thursday, September 6 from 10am-noon and runs for 4 weeks. Please don’t wait until Thursday to sign up! More Information

Learn to Swim Program

If you are interested in enrolling your child or yourself in our Learn to Swim lessons, it’s not too late! The Learn to Swim program provides swim lessons for all levels and all ages starting at 6 months old. Our next session starts on September 10th. Come and maximize your learning potential while the weather is warm. Group lessons are $60 Resident/$75 Non-Resident per session (6 lessons). More Information

Makos Swim Team Welcoming New Swimmers  

If you are looking for a fun, outdoor activity for your child that beats the heat and can increase your child’s overall fitness, then the Makos Swim Team is the perfect fit. Swim Team includes conditioning and technique-based swim instruction for ages 4-17 in a fun, team environment.  For those who are interested in competing against other swim teams, we have competition options available.  Please visit the Makos Swim Team web page for more details. Flexible swim options are available.
