Congratulations!The City of Palm Beach Gardens was recently recognized at the Florida Festival and Events Association conference for winning two SUNsational awards: a first-place award in the Community Outreach Program category for the Gardens Gives Back Community Service Experience, and a second-place award in the Brochure category for the Gardens Life brochure. The FFEA SUNsational Awards Program recognizes its members' innovation, individuality and creative collaboration.

GFWC Palm Beach Gardens Woman's ClubSeptember 16 | 7pm, Lakeside Community Center, 10410 N. Military Trail September’s program will be "Dress for Success", for battered women returning to the workforce. We will be collecting handbags, shoes, scarves, costume jewelry and makeup. All items should be new or slightly worn and clean, except the makeup, which has to be new. Refreshments will be served. School’s Out DaysOur first School’s Out Day of this school year is coming up on September 14 and then there is another one on September 23! Drop your K-8th grade child off for a day of fun activities, games and friends. If your child is more sports-minded, we also have School’s Out for Sports. Hours are 7:30am-6pm at the Burns Rd. Rec. Center for both programs. Register in advance online or in person. More Information
LaBlastCreated by three-time World Dance Champion Louis Van Amstel, LaBlast is a fun-filled dance/fitness class. It is a workout in disguise as participants simultaneously learn true, authentic dances like Disco, Cha-Cha, Jive, Swing, and many more. LaBlast is designed for ALL levels, from the absolute beginner to the experienced dancer. The music utilized comes from every artist, every genre, and every era. NO PARTNER IS NEEDED! Mondays beginning September 21 from 7:30-8:30pm at BRRC. Res/Non-res Fee is $10/$12.
PBGYAA Rec BasketballThe youth basketball season is right around the corner! Registration opens on September 15 for girls and October 1 for boys. Visit www.pbgbasketball.com for more information or to register your child. The league fills up quickly so don’t hesitate to register.
Rhythmic GymnasticsThis program teaches participants ages 3-12 elements of dance, gymnastics, and ballet while also incorporating the use of apparatuses (balls, ribbon, hoops, etc.). Participants will improve dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and strength among other physical abilities. Monday or Wednesday afternoon classes begin September 14 & 16 at BRRC. Res/Non-Res Fee is $91/$114 for 7 week session. More Information

Adult/Senior Bingo Join the group at Burns Road Recreation Center every Monday starting September 14th, where the fun continues this season with BINGO in the Auditorium from 1 - 4pm. Your first visit is free! More Information
Gardens Book Club This club will discuss “The Invention of Wings” by Sue Monk Kidd on September 17 from 1-2pm at Lakeside Center over coffee. Book Club discussions take place the third Thursday of every month. Come share your thoughts…
Gardens Movie Club We continue to show movies at the Lakeside Center from 1-3pm on most Thursdays. Upcoming movies are: September 3: “Ida”; September 10: “The Cobbler” and September 24: “The Butler”.

Labor Day Weekend Mixed Doubles and LunchSaturday, September 5, 10:30am-2:30pm - After some great competition on July 4th, we’re expecting more on the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend! Three rounds of 8-game Pro-set play in ability-based groups is followed by hot dogs and burgers from the grill. Trophies go to main draw winners and finalists and consolation winners. Paired entries are encouraged, but “partner help” is possible. Activity #332101-1D. Enroll at the Tennis Center or online.
Level 6 USTA-sanctioned Tournament “Play on Clay” Boys and Girls 18, 16-Under Singles and Doubles September 12-14 (Sat-Mon), 8:30am - Highly-skilled older teen players compete for ranking in singles and doubles or, if you don’t fit that category, come watch some great tennis! Entry is available online. Women’s Weekday Team Practice Begins! 10 women’s doubles teams comprising 150+ players will represent the Palm Beach Gardens Tennis Center in weekly inter-club play from October through April. Practice begins September 14. Some team places may still be available! Call 561-775-8277 to inquire.
USTA Family Play Day Kids and parents get a fun introduction to the “Sport of a Lifetime” conducted by our expert pros. Age-appropriate balls and equipment will be provided. Saturday, September 19, 1-3pm, at the Tennis Center, 5110 117th Court North, PBG, 33418. There is no charge for this family event.

One-day Recreational Junior Singles TournamentSaturday, September 26, 11am-5pm - Kids just getting into competitive tennis (and some “beginning to be ranked”) have a chance to gain experience and hone their match play skills with three rounds of 8-game Pro-set competition in ability-based groups.
