Join us as we move back outdoors for a fabulous 18th season of The Gardens GreenMarket! The GreenMarket continues every Sunday thru May 3rd. Choose from fresh produce, flowers, handmade crafts, prepared foods and so much more! You can also enjoy free Tai Chi from 8-9am next to the GreenMarket site at Veterans Plaza Amphitheater, as well as live entertainment each Sunday.

FALL FESTIVAL

Enjoy a SPOOKTACULAR night of fun-filled activities such as the Trunk-or-Treat which, in addition to candy, includes non-food treats for children with food allergies. There is also an inflatable obstacle course, live music by The Goodnicks, outdoor screening of the movie “Coco”, food vendors and more. HOLIDAY BAZAAR VENDORS MAY STILL APPLY!

Even though the 36th Annual Gardens Holiday Bazaar application deadline has passed, we will continue to take applications from non-jewelers to fill any vacant spaces. It is a two-day event on Friday-Saturday, December 6-7, and you must be in attendance both days. Apply now! Please visit our Holiday Bazaar website for more info.

SEEKING VENDORS FOR THE 2020 HEALTH, WELLNESS & RESOURCE FAIR

Vendor Applications Available Starting Oct. 1, 2019
Last year’s inaugural fair was a great success! This year’s fair is on Saturday, March 7, 2020, from 9am-2pm at the Burns Road Community Center. There are 90 spaces available and vendors will receive a 10’ X 10’ indoor booth space as well as their company name or logo on our website with a link to your website.
Fees:   
  • $100/booth space
  • $125/booth space includes one (1) 8ft table and two chairs (limited supply)

RESIDENT PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST FINALISTS’ EXHIBITION

Mark your calendars for this reception where we will reveal our Resident Photo Contest finalists. Mingle with this year's winners and see whose photos will be on display in the City Hall Lobby until December 19th. Celebratory refreshments will be served. We hope to see you there!

BOO BASH

Friday, October 18  |  9:30-10:30am

Children 4 and under and their parents will have a HOWLING good time at this BOO-FILLED event!  Wear your favorite costume and join us as we celebrate the Fall season featuring a costume parade, music, games, story and creepy crafts.  Refreshments provided.  Please pre-register by Wednesday, October 16. OCTOBER SCHOOL’S OUT CAMPS 

There are two school’s out days coming up this month on Wednesday, October 9th and Friday, October 18th. Keep the kids active and sign them up for one of our camps: School’s Out Juniors for PreK-4-1st grade, School’s Out Camp for 2nd-8th grade, and Predators Soccer Camp for ages 5-14. TOTALLY 2’s & 3’s

Register now for this fun-filled parent and me class for 2- and 3-year-olds! We only have 2 spaces left in our Totally 2’s class that runs October 23-December 4, but still have quite a few open in the Totally 3’s class. Each class is based on a story and craft, and teaches toddlers letter and number recognition, fine motor skills, social skills and movement. Classes meet Wednesdays at Burns Road Community Center; 2’s are 9-9:45am and 3’s are 10-10:45am. No class 11/27.  R/NR fee: $48/$60. More information on Totally 2’s & 3’s

MIDDLE SCHOOL ART AUDITION PREP CLASS

Hoping your child will attend a local arts school program? Eliminate those audition jitters by signing them up for our Middle School Art Audition Prep class on Mondays from 6-7:30pm! Students in 4th & 5th grades will design art projects and be drilled in the kinds of exercises they will expect at the time of their audition. This course is great for students who are passionate about visual arts and are motivated to improve their skills. For more information or to register, visit our Youth Art & Cooking web page.

IMPROV DANCE WORKSHOP

Without dance, what's the POINTE? Youth ages 10 – 18 are invited to join us for our first Improvisational Dance Workshop of the year. This class focuses on breaking down individual dance moves, teaching structured improv movements, and helping cultivate a dancer’s own unique sense of style. The workshop is $15 for residents, $19 for non-residents. TAI CHI RETURNS

FREE Tai Chi returns to Veterans Plaza, 10500 N. Military Trail, starting Sunday, October 6th from 8-9am along with the opening of the new GreenMarket season. Had a stressful week? Tai Chi is an excellent way to improve balance, heart health, and fight stress.  This popular class is offered free to the public, thanks to Palm Beach Heartstrong.  Once you get that morning workout in, stop by The Gardens GreenMarket sponsored in good health by Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center to shop for all the healthy and fresh items from over 150 vendors!

BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE
WHEEL THROWING CLASS

Discover the world of pottery by registering for one of our NEW Wheel Throwing classes. Learn the basics of the wheel in our Beginners’ class and explore more advanced techniques in our Intermediate class. FITNESS IN THE PARK!!

Try our newest addition to our Wellness offerings: Boot Camp in the Park! Boot Camp will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7pm on the agility field at Gardens North County District Park. Taught by Cindy Martling, this class is a great total body workout.  Drop-in fee is $5 for residents and $7 for Non-Residents.

LUNCHTIME FITNESS

Want to get a quick workout during your lunch hour?  Try attending one of our lunchtime fitness/wellness classes.  Whether it’s Boot Camp, Strong Fitness or Health Yoga, we offer classes each weekday, with starting times ranging from 11:45am to 12:30pm. NEW! KABLOOM

Experience the fun and stimulating KaBloom art program for adults on Monday, October 7 from 11am-Noon. This crafting event puts your creative juices to work as you design one-of-a-kind seasonal centerpieces, wall art, party decorations, and much more while enjoying a friendly and entertaining environment.  Pre-registration is required. Resident/Non-Resident: $10/$13. Supplies are included.

OUT & ABOUT TRIP FOR ADULTS

Join us as we venture to the Norton Museum of Art on Thursday, October 10 from 9am-12:30pm. Their newly renovated museum includes over 7,000 works with a concentration in European, American and Chinese art, as well as in contemporary art and photography. The $25 fee includes transportation and admission. Please register by Thursday, October 3, 2019.

MAH JONGG TOURNAMENT & LUNCHEON

Burns Road Community Center comes ALIVE with our annual Fall Mah Jongg Tournament and Luncheon sponsored by Humana.  Pre-registration is required no later than Tuesday, October 8. Fees are $5 for Lakeside Club members and $10 for non-members.

CONGRATULATIONS, JEANNETTE MCGLONE & TEAMMATES!

Winter resident and Tennis Passport Holder Jeannette McGlone (pictured on right) and her Canadian teammates scored a third-place finish in the ITF World Women’s 70+ Team championships, completed recently in Umag, Croatia. Jeannette credits her winter training with the Tennis Center’s Ron Rainyn as a major factor in her rapid improvement since retiring as professor of neuroscience from Nova Scotia’s Dalhousie University.

NEW POOL HOURS 

The PBG Aquatic Complex has new Winter hours of operation as of Monday, September 30, 2019. The main play pool with diving board, rock climbing wall and slides is closed until the Spring, but the Splash Zone that includes the splash playground and spray pad is still open during limited hours. Please visit the Aquatics web page for the current schedule.

MAKOS SWIM TEAM

Make a splash with the Makos Swim Team as the second session begins October 7th! The Makos is broken down into four teams: Green, Red, Blue, and White based on skill level. New swimmers ages 4-17 are always welcome year-round, so stop by the Aquatic Complex during a swim team practice for an evaluation! Visit the Makos website for session details.
